Release form and composition

Produced in the form of biconvex dragees of orange color. Each dragee contains 18 mg of plant material, crushed to a powder. Tablets are sold in blisters of 20 tablets, 60 or 120 tablets, 3 or 6 blisters per box.

Available in the form of a clear alcohol solution for oral administration. The solution has a characteristic herbal aroma and a brownish-yellow color. 100 milliliters of solution contains 600 mg of herbs, similar to those contained in tablets. During storage of the solution, a slight sediment may occur. Usually the solution is sold in bottles with a special dosing device; each bottle contains 50 or 100 milliliters of medicine.

MARKET DEVELOPMENT

So, over the past few years, CANEPHRON® H has been the undisputed leader in the retail market of drugs in the G04B X50** group in monetary terms. In the ranking of brands of this competitive group in terms of pharmacy sales in physical terms based on the results of January–October 2014, CANEFRON® H takes 2nd place.

It is important to note that in the total volume of pharmacy sales of drugs from the G04B X50** group, the CANEPHRON® N brand occupies a significant share: among more than two dozen drugs in the group, it accumulates more than 35% of pharmacy sales in monetary terms (Fig. 1). In physical terms, the specific gravity of CANEPHRON N is more than 25%.

The monthly dynamics of pharmacy sales of the drug CANEPHRON® H and drugs of the G04B X50** group since the beginning of 2014 in physical terms clearly correlates (Fig. 2). In monetary terms, CANEPHRON® H demonstrates advanced development compared to the competitive group (Fig. 3).

Since the beginning of the year, based on the results of January–October 2014, the volume of pharmacy sales of the drug CANEPHRON® H in monetary terms increased by 18% compared to the same period of the previous year, amounting to UAH 105 million. for 992 thousand packs. For comparison, the increase in retail sales of drugs from the G04B X50** group in monetary terms amounted to 13.2% (Fig. 4).

The maximum sales volume of CANEPHRON N, both in monetary and physical terms, is concentrated in pharmacies in Kyiv, Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkov, Odessa regions and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Fig. 5, 6). Their share in the brand’s pharmacy sales structure in January–October 2014 amounted to more than 45%.

As already noted, on the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market CANEPHRON® H is presented in two dosage forms - film-coated tablets, blister, No. 60 and oral drops in a 100 ml bottle with a dosing device. In the overall sales structure of the brand, the predominant share is accumulated by the solid dosage form. Based on the results of January–October 2014, the share of CANEPHRON N in the form of tablets amounted to 74.7% of the total pharmacy sales of the brand in monetary terms, and in physical terms - 71.7%. CANEPHRON® H in the form of drops accumulated 25.3 and 28.3%, respectively.

Instructions for use Canephron N (method and dosage)

Intended for oral use.

Solution

The drug in the form of a solution should be diluted in water or washed down with liquid. The recommended dosage for adults is 50 drops three times a day. Children aged 6-17 years are prescribed 25 drops 3 times a day. Children from 1 year to 6 years are prescribed 15 drops three times a day. For children, the solution can be mixed with sweet drinks to eliminate the bitter taste.

Treatment with the drug should be continued for 2-4 weeks after the acute attack has stopped.

During the treatment period, drinking large amounts of fluid is indicated.

Dragee

The dragee should be swallowed whole, without chewing, and washed down with water.

The dosage for adults is 2 tablets three times a day. Children aged 6-17 years are advised to use the drug 1 tablet three times a day. After relief of symptoms, it is recommended to continue treatment for 2-4 weeks.

STOCK IN PHARMACIES

You can plan inventory for the drug CANEPHRON® N based on an analysis of its sales volume in various pharmacies. When forecasting inventory, it is important to take into account a number of external and internal factors that influence the needs and sales capabilities of retail outlets, including their format (pharmacies, pharmacy points) and financial characteristics.

To analyze the characteristics of sales of the drug CANEFRON® N in retail outlets with different characteristics, the following categories of settlements were identified: with a population of up to 100 thousand people, 100–700 thousand, 700–2000 thousand, and Kyiv as a separate administrative unit. Retail outlets were combined on a financial basis based on data on retail sales of the drug for October 2014. As evidenced by data on the average number of packages of CANEPHRON N sold in various groups of retail outlets, regardless of the category of settlement, the volume of retail sales of the drug is directly related to the monthly volume sales outlet revenue (Fig. 8).

Based on estimated data on retail sales of the drug in October 2014, we present recommendations regarding the volume of monthly inventory for the CANEFRON® N brand (Table 5).

pharmachologic effect

Canephron N is a herbal medicine that has anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic effects. It contains many active components that have a complex effect and significantly reduce the severity of the inflammatory process in a short time, eliminate spasm of the urinary tract and have a diuretic effect.

The composition of the medicine includes essential oils, phenolcarboxylic acids and other plant components. Almost all of them have an antibacterial effect and other beneficial properties that guarantee quick and safe results. When using the drug, all patients experience a decrease in protein excretion in the urine, which is due to the influence of the plant components included in the drug on the tubular and glomerular systems.

Indications for use

Canephron N is universal in its use. Thus, the drug is actively used to treat patients with acute chronic diseases of the kidneys and genitourinary system. Such diseases include cystitis, pyelonephritis, glomerulonephritis, and urolithiasis.

Canephron can be taken independently. However, it combines well with other drugs of similar action, thereby enhancing their effect and accelerating the healing process. For some minor inflammatory processes, Canephron can be used independently for preventive purposes.

The drug is known for its phenomenal ability to remove kidney stones. Thus, Canephron N can be used after lithotripsy (crushing stones) and get rid of the remaining stones relatively quickly and painlessly. Video review of the drug Canephron N:

special instructions

• It is not recommended to use the drug in the form of a solution for liver diseases, as well as after treatment of chronic alcoholism, since it contains ethyl alcohol.
• Large amounts of fluid are contraindicated in the presence of edema caused by impaired functioning of the heart muscle or kidneys.
• For the treatment of kidneys, Canephron N is not used as monotherapy.
• If during treatment you experience pain during urination or blood in the urine, you should immediately consult a doctor for advice.
• During the period of taking the solution, you should drive vehicles and complex machinery with extreme caution.
• The pills do not affect the ability to drive a vehicle or operate other mechanisms.

Description of the drug

Canephron N has been produced in Germany since the 30s. The medicine exists on the Russian pharmaceutical market relatively recently. But he has already proven himself in the treatment of urological diseases.

For those who are interested in taking non-synthetic drugs and care about their health, Canephron is the best option. It contains three main herbs - lovage, centaury and rosemary.

Medicinal plants have a large number of beneficial substances that have anti-inflammatory, diuretic and antispasmodic effects on the body.

Composition and release form

The drug is produced in 2 types - pills and drops (solution). Both have the same therapeutic effect and differ in age restrictions.

How the drug works

• First of all, herbal oils, which are found in large quantities in Canephron, have a diuretic effect.

By dilating the blood vessels and supplying blood flow to the kidneys, they improve their functioning and prevent the absorption of liquid and sodium into the walls of the kidneys. Thus, it normalizes the function of the renal system, eliminating edema.

• Relieves inflammation thanks to rosemary. Promotes rapid improvement of general condition and smoothing of symptoms caused by genitourinary disease;
• Helps normalize protein in urine (proteinuria);
• Relieves spasm of smooth muscles, eliminating pain;
• Fights bacteria and microbes, such as staphylococci and streptococci, and prevents their proliferation.

Indications

• Glomerulonephritis;
• Prevention of stone formation in the urinary system and kidneys.

Indications in urology may also be the prevention of inflammation of the prostate gland.

Instructions for use

How to take Canephron before or after meals is up to you, you just need to drink it with plenty of water and stick to the period between doses.

How long you can take the drug is prescribed by your doctor. The duration of treatment depends on the patient’s condition and the severity of the disease.

In difficult cases, Canephron is combined with antibacterial therapy. The course of treatment is a minimum of 7 days, a maximum of 30. For prevention, take a reduced dosage for 14 days, then take a break.

Treatment regimen

How many days should I take Canephron? The duration is determined by the doctor; it can serve as an additional enhancing agent. So it can act as an independent drug in the treatment of pathologies of the urinary system. Therefore, recovery can last from 7-30 days.

Canephron and cystitis

The medication should be used according to the same scheme as shown in the table above. The course of treatment is 7-10 days.

After you feel better, you should not stop taking the medicine; cystitis tends to subside and become chronic. It will make itself felt at the first hypothermia or viral disease.

The effectiveness of the treatment has already been proven, judging by the positive reviews about it from both doctors and patients. The acute form of the disease is treated in combination with antibacterial drugs, but for the chronic form only one Canephron regimen is suitable. By sticking to it, you will forget about bladder pathology forever.

Action of the drug:

• Relieves inflammation;
• Eliminates pain and spasms;
• Removes symptoms after the first day of use (pain, burning, pain when urinating);
• Improves the general condition of the patient.

Use the drug for both adults and children. Do not self-medicate; there is a possibility that you will choose the wrong dosage and Canephron therapy will be ineffective. The main thing is that if you start using the medicine, you should not stop after your general condition improves.

Pregnancy and swelling

The drug is prescribed in the last trimester. Do not self-medicate; the dosage is determined by the gynecologist.

The effectiveness of treatment and the removal of fluid from the body will depend on the regimen and correctly selected daily dose.

Thanks to Canephron, the electrolyte balance is stabilized without leaching out important trace elements in the urine.

Side effects and contraindications

No negative effects were recorded after taking the drug. The main one is an allergy to Canephron. Manifests itself in the form of rashes on the skin (urticaria).

The main cause of an allergic reaction is individual intolerance to certain components of the drug.

Sometimes this may cause gastrointestinal disorders. There is a possibility of slight abdominal pain, slight malaise, and loose stools.

Contraindications:

1. Tablets are not recommended for children under 6 years of age;
2. An alcohol-based solution is not suitable for those suffering from coded alcoholism;
3. Individual intolerance to components;
4. Drops are not recommended for people with chronic liver disease (cirrhosis).

Treatment and dosage are prescribed by the doctor based on medical history, age category and severity of the disease of the genitourinary system.

Overdose

No such cases have been recorded with the drug. But if you have taken an extra tablet or solution, cleanse the stomach through lavage.

Analogs

The medication can be replaced with individual drugs that are not inferior in therapeutic effect. They are made on the basis of plant components, differ in composition, but provide the same treatment.

1. "Cystone" Cystone. Tablets 100 pcs. in a bottle;
2. "Urolesan" Urolesanum. Solution (drops) 15 g;
3. "Furagin" Furaginum. Available in pills of 100 pcs. or in powder;
4. "Phytolysin" Phytolysin. It is produced in a tube and has the form of a paste for internal use.

Each drug has its own composition, so before use, read the instructions, side effects, contraindications.

Cyston and canephron

Can I take it together? These two drugs are in no way inferior to each other. In terms of medicinal properties, they are leaders among diuretics and anti-inflammatory drugs in the genitourinary area.

They are prescribed for the treatment of acute and chronic forms of the urinary tract and kidneys. But you shouldn’t take them at the same time. The scheme and duration of the Cyston course are similar.

Canephron and Urolesan

Is it possible to alternate them? Many people advise not to do this, but to choose one of these drugs. It is recommended to read the treatment regimen and composition in the instructions before use. The reviews are only positive.

Price and expiration date

The drug is prescribed without a prescription and is available in all pharmacies in the country. The cost varies depending on the point of sale and the form of release from 416-550 rubles.

Expiration date:

• After opening the bottle – 6 months, 24 unopened;
• Use the tablets within 3 years;

As part of this drug, all plants contain substances that have an antimicrobial effect. The combination of antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect is a very valuable quality of Canephron. According to studies of the drug, it should be prescribed to adults, children and pregnant women with genitourinary diseases.

Cystitis is a fairly common disease in which inflammation of the bladder occurs. It is usually accompanied by inflammation of the urethra - urethritis. The disease can be isolated or part of a program of sexually transmitted infections. The main patients with this disease are women, although men also sometimes suffer from this disease.

Acute cystitis, as a rule, occurs suddenly, after hypothermia or other provoking factors, such as a general decrease in immunity, stress, and poor hygiene. The most basic sign of cystitis is painful, frequent urination, the pain intensifying at the end, when the bladder is completely emptied.

It also occurs after acute urethritis, when before it was painful to urinate, but at the beginning, and then pain occurs in the middle and end, plus frequent urge and pain in the suprapubic area.

There are a lot of different drugs that help the body cope with such an unpleasant disease. For some it helps a lot, for others it is Furadonin, for others it is taken. We will look at how effective a new medicine for cystitis is - Canephron (manufactured in Germany). For cystitis, many doctors recommend using it.

Contraindications

Contraindications to the use of Canephron N:

• Hypersensitivity to the main or auxiliary components;
• Peptic ulcer disease is a period of exacerbation;
• Lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption - for pills;
• Sucrase/isomaltase deficiency, fructose intolerance – for tablets;
• Chronic alcoholism, including the period of remission - for solution;
• Ages up to 6 years – for tablets,
• Age up to 1 year – for solution.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, Canephron N can be used only as prescribed by a doctor.

Due to the ethanol content, the oral solution should be administered with caution to children from one to 6 years of age, to patients with liver diseases and traumatic brain injuries.

Analogs

Before replacing Canephron with another medicine, you should consult your doctor. The fact is that there are many drugs with a similar therapeutic effect, but the composition of the drugs is different. And therefore, some analogues can cure one disease, but will not have the desired effect on another.

Similar drugs:

1. Phytolysin;
2. Furagin;
3. Cyston.

It is strictly forbidden to self-medicate, listen to the recommendations of friends, and choose a similar drug just because it is cheaper.

What is the difference between Canephron and Cyston?

Prevention

Canephron is used not only to treat many diseases of the urinary system, but also to prevent them, for people of different ages. The dosage in such cases is reduced (see instructions), as determined by the doctor in more detail.

The good thing about the drug is that all the components are of natural origin, do not cause allergies or addiction, and the time of administration does not depend on food. These drops are prescribed to children for the prevention of urolithiasis, various nephritis, as a gentle diuretic.

In conclusion, I would like to add that most reviews about the drug are positive, it is highly effective and lacks side effects and allergic reactions. But, nevertheless, before use it is better to consult a specialist.

…A COMPETENT PHARMACY IN PHYTOTHERAPY

In the pharmacies of the chains that supported the project, specialized departments have been opened where visitors can find herbal medicines with effectiveness and safety, proven by the results of numerous clinical studies, as well as receive professional advice on herbal medicine.

The Phytothek®/Phytothek® project started in December 2012. The first branded specialized departments opened in Kyiv in the pharmacy chains “Pharmacies of Hormonal Preparations”, “Vitalux” and “Falbi”.

Since November 2013, new participants have joined the Phytothek® project. Thus, specialized departments were opened in several pharmacy establishments of the Pharmastore network (known under the brand name “Good Day Pharmacy”) - in Kyiv and Odessa.
