Reviews

  • Kidneys and bladder have been my problem since childhood. I caught a cold after swimming in the ice hole. 5-nock was often prescribed in combination with other treatment. I myself, too, if I feel like I’m overcooled and everything is getting worse, I don’t wait until it starts to hurt, I drink 10 days of 5-day drinks and that’s it, I’m like a cucumber again.
  • I caught a cold in my genitourinary system while in the army. Then I don’t remember what they treated me at the hospital, but with age, old sores began to appear, and my kidneys began to shoot out little by little. I contacted him and was prescribed 5-nock and another herbal medicine. I was surprised that they didn’t prescribe enough, I thought it wouldn’t help, I was dissatisfied, but I decided to drink it anyway. But it helped, which means it’s a good medicine and relatively inexpensive.
  • I started having problems with my kidneys during my pregnancy in the third trimester. After giving birth, I underwent a course of treatment, but apparently this is forever now. Once you freeze a little, discomfort and problems return. I no longer go to the doctor, I drink 5 drinks myself and relief quickly comes. The effect is immediately noticeable not only in sensations, but swelling also disappears. I don’t have very good tolerance to some medications, especially antibiotics, but I have absolutely no problems with nitroxoline, I don’t feel any discomfort.
  • I have chronic pyelonephritis and, like many with this diagnosis, I have been familiar with 5-nok for a long time and periodically take a course of it. What can I say, it helps and, fortunately, there are no side effects. I have problems with mycoses and taking antibiotics aggravates their course for a long time. I am very glad that there is such a medicine as 5-nok, which at the same time kills bacteria in my body and does not provoke, but rather fights the formation of fungi. I advise everyone with kidney problems and cystitis.
  • Mom suffers from kidney problems and we always have 5-nocks at home just in case. And this case happens from time to time, if the mother feels that something is wrong, she starts taking it according to the old doctor’s prescription, because you won’t get to the doctors right away. True, then it’s no longer necessary, everything goes away and the need to visit a doctor disappears by itself.

Pharmaceutical analogues

Below are analogs or synonyms of 5-NOK. Analogues are drugs that are interchangeable in their effect on the body and that contain the same active ingredients.

When choosing a synonym, it is important to consider not only their price, but also by which company and in which country it is produced. Many unscrupulous manufacturers skimp on the quality of raw materials and research, so in pursuit of cheapness, you can cause additional harm to your health.

Drug analogues:

  1. Nitroxoline. It is an antimicrobial drug with a broad spectrum of action. The main active ingredient is identical to 5-NOK. One tablet contains 50 mg of nitroxoline. Indications for use and contraindications differ slightly. Effective for pyelonephritis and cystitis, as well as other infectious diseases of the genitourinary system.
  2. 5-Nitrox. Antibacterial agent with the active component nitroxoline. Belongs to the hydroxyquinoline family. Used for cystitis, pyelonephritis, prostatitis and other diseases caused by infections. The advantages of the drug include its relatively low cost. Significant disadvantages are the slow delivery of therapeutic effects, rapid removal of the drug from the body and low bioavailability.

Side effects and contraindications are similar to 5-NOK. Take 5-Nitrox during meals or a few minutes later with clean water.

special instructions

During pregnancy, the drug is prescribed as a last resort, when the risk of illness in the mother exceeds the risk of the drug affecting the fetus. During breastfeeding, the drug is not prescribed, or during treatment, feeding is replaced with formula milk.

The drug is not prescribed to children under 1 year of age due to the form of release and dosage.

Alcohol does not affect the action of 5-NOK , but can aggravate the course of the underlying disease . Therefore, it is advisable to stop or minimize its use during illness.

Analogues of 5-NOK : nitroxoline, 5-Nitrox, Uritrol, Nikinol, Noxin, Nibiol. An annotation with a detailed description of the drugs is contained in the package.

Contraindications

Contraindications for taking 5-Nok are cataracts, acute renal failure, impaired liver function, hypersensitivity or drug intolerance to organic compounds of the heterocyclic series (quinolines), nitroxoline or other components of the drug.

It is not recommended to prescribe nitroxoline together with drugs containing 8-hydroxyquinoline derivatives; this may cause the development of toxic reactions. When nitroxoline is taken together with drugs containing tetracycline, a summation of effects is observed. The composition of 5-Nok tablets includes the disaccharides sucrose and lactose, so people with intolerance to these components are contraindicated to take the medicine.

A course of treatment longer than 4 weeks should be prescribed only after additional examination of the functioning of the kidneys and liver.

    From my father’s experience, we were convinced that 5NOK helps well against prostatitis, maybe this was partly due to Smartprost, but the effect appeared already in the second week of treatment. But I’ve been taking it for the third week for cystitis, and I can’t say that I feel healthy. Maybe it’s nerves or something else, but so far there’s no visible result.

Indications for use

5-NOK tablets cope well with acute and chronic pathologies of the genitourinary tract.

Main indications for use:

  • acute and chronic cystitis;
  • urethritis;
  • pyelonephritis;
  • prostatitis;
  • prevention of relapses of bladder inflammation;
  • prostate infections.

It is not recommended to take 5-NOK for cystitis on your own without prior examination and a doctor’s prescription. There is a high probability that infectious agents will be insensitive to the main active ingredient - nitroxoline. In this case, the result of treatment will be zero. In addition, you can harm the body even more, since the drug 5-NOK is an antibiotic.

In parallel with antibacterial therapy, it is necessary to take medications to support and strengthen the immune system.

Features of the product

Nitroxoline, the main component of the drug, has a negative effect on harmful microorganisms; this effect is achieved through direct action on them, as a result of which the bacteria stop breathing. The tablets are produced by the company LEK dd, and you can buy them in almost any pharmacy at a low price, but a prescription is required. Therefore, the remedy is prescribed exclusively by the attending physician after diagnostic measures. FiveNok tablets are used to treat both adults and children.

The drug belongs to the group of antibacterial drugs of synthetic origin and is a uroantiseptic. The active substances of the drug show excellent effectiveness in the fight against fungus and various bacteria. That is why it has gained such popularity in the treatment of various diseases of the urinary system. The tablets are taken with food or after that; they must be washed down with water; they do not need to be chewed or dissolved, since the active components must begin to act in the digestive system.

5-NOK is a drug from the pharmacological group

Studies have shown that within 1-2 hours after administration, the maximum concentration of the active substance is observed in the body. This means that at this moment the drug is most effective, the main component is quickly absorbed by the body, which allows you to quickly eliminate problematic symptoms, for example, get rid of itching or pain - these are characteristic manifestations of cystitis.

“5-NOK” is not an antibiotic, but only a drug with an antibacterial effect, but it still cannot be taken by people who experience kidney failure. If you cannot do without the drug, then you can simply halve the dosage, but the patient must regularly visit the attending physician. This will allow him to timely record the development of pathology and make changes to his treatment.

There is no need to combine tablets with products that contain hydroxychlorines. But experts have nothing against traditional recipes and other pharmaceutical medications; on the contrary, such methods will improve the body’s protective functions, making it possible to cope with the infection faster. For example, a decoction of chamomile flowers has proven itself to be excellent; in addition, you can take vitamins, thanks to which the liver and kidneys will function more stably.

The tablets should be stored in a dry place where the ambient temperature is no more than 25 degrees. Under such conditions, the drug will be able to retain its beneficial properties for 5 years. The cost of the drug is in the range of 130-200 rubles, one package contains 50 tablets. The exact cost is determined by the supplier and the retail outlet, so sometimes it may deviate from this framework.
