Very often, skin rashes and other skin diseases directly depend on the condition of the kidneys. When the disease occurs, external manifestations appear: skin color may change, allergic reactions may appear, and dry skin may occur. The disease must be correctly diagnosed and treated. Otherwise, there is a possibility of serious pathological processes. The first step is to take a urine test.
Skin lesions in kidney disease
In kidney diseases, there are 2 categories of skin lesions. The first category includes those diseases and symptoms that are caused by kidney failure. The second group includes pathological processes caused by diseases that are acquired throughout life or are inherited. Doctors attach special importance to the first group. Signs of kidney disease that characterize renal failure:
- prone to pigmentation, pale, yellowish and dry skin;
- rashes on different parts of the body with itching;
- white dots appear on the nail plate;
- layering of nails, split ends of hair and hair loss;
- tendency to fungal diseases;
- stomatitis.
The second category is characterized by the following diseases:
- diabetes;
- gout;
- syphilis;
- scarlet fever;
- lupus;
- dermatosis;
- amyloidosis.
Internal acne in the eyebrow area on the face: connection with which organs?
Internal acne in the eyebrow area on the face
Pimples and other skin changes often occur in the eyebrow area, which indicate poor functioning of the immune system. Another connection, with what organs?
- The cause of internal acne in the area of the eyebrows on the face, as well as between their hairs, may be excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages.
- The culprits for the appearance of pimples between the eyebrows may be too fatty foods and associated liver dysfunction.
- Spots between the eyebrows, or directly in the eyebrow hairs, can signal excess toxins in the body.
The first thing you need to do is check your liver. If its work improves, then the immune system and other organs and systems will function well.
Kidney disease rash, causes and treatment
Only 5% of skin rashes are not associated with disruption of the body. A skin rash indicates kidney disease. There are several reasons why rashes appear:
- Excess phosphorus in the body (the kidneys are not able to cope with this element, it accumulates and leads to rashes).
- Uremic intoxication (when waste from the blood accumulates and is not eliminated from the body in a timely manner, it affects the external state of the body and provokes itching and rash).
- The presence of autoimmune diseases (rash is the first sign of kidney disease).
Only a doctor can correctly diagnose the disease after studying the history of the disease and obtaining the necessary tests. But treating only the rash in this case will be ineffective. It is necessary to eradicate the main cause of the disease. The complex use of drugs to normalize the functioning of the kidneys and excretory system, as well as against rashes, will help return to normal. Diuretics are prescribed to help remove everything unnecessary from the kidneys, vitamins or a complex of vitamins B and Ca, C and P, cytostatic drugs “Cyclophosphamide” and “Azathioprine” (contraindicated during pregnancy). You can turn to traditional medicine and drink a collection of herbs for kidney failure.
What medications are prescribed for kidney stones?
Kidney stones cause severe pain. To get rid of them, it is necessary to use medications for urolithiasis of the kidneys. Modern drugs allow you to remove small stones by dissolving them. To treat urolithiasis, medications, mineral waters and folk remedies are used.
Traditional preparations
Hard deposits (stones) in the kidneys are formed as a result of disturbances in the acid-base balance and metabolic process in the body. It is worth noting that certain drugs intended to dissolve stones must be used only for a specific type of kidney stone. If the patient does not adhere to this rule or independently changes the dose of the medicine, then the disturbance of the acid-base balance changes even more in one direction or another. This process will either increase the size of existing stones or form new ones.
Experts recommend the following most effective medications for urolithiasis, which help dissolve and remove kidney stones:
- Allopurinol is a drug that helps fight various types of hard deposits. The components of the drug help reduce the concentration of uric acid.
- Asparkam - helps get rid of oxalates and urates. The drug affects the heart, so it must be taken with great caution. Asparkam is considered one of the most effective drugs.
- Blemaren is a drug that dissolves oxalates in the kidneys and bladder. The drug helps to alkalize urine.
- Madder extract is an extract from a plant that can be used to dissolve phosphate stones. While taking the drug, the urine turns red, which frightens patients, but this is not blood, but an extract of madder.
- Cyston - helps dissolve oxalate stones. The drug can also be used to dissolve hard stones of a different composition, without changing the acid-base balance of urine.
The above drugs are available in tablet form. Preparations in the form of solution and paste are also used. Among them are:
- Xidifon is a medicinal solution that is taken orally. Helps dissolve phosphate and oxalate kidney stones.
- Urolesan - drops, they help remove solid deposits from the kidneys due to their antispasmodic and diuretic effect.
- Phytolysin is a paste that gradually breaks down kidney stones, washing out their insides. The oxalate becomes like a sieve and then breaks down.
When removing stones, it is necessary to use not only drugs that promote destruction, but also means that help remove stones through the urinary tract. Therefore, the treatment regimen must include a complex of drugs. All medications must be prescribed by a doctor; self-medication can worsen your health.
Mineral water as a remedy against stones
Many urologists believe that mineral water helps dissolve stones. Water is selected based on the types of solid deposits in the kidneys. The intake and dosage of mineral water should be prescribed by the attending physician, because its uncontrolled use can lead to the leaching of beneficial substances and disrupt kidney function. Each mineral water has a number that determines its alkalinity. The following main types of mineral water are distinguished:
- medicinal alkaline mineral water - helps dissolve oxalates and urates (Polyana Kvasovaya, Borjomi, Essentuki 17);
- mineral water with high acidity - used in the presence of phosphates (Narzan, Mirgorodskaya).
Treatment with traditional methods
Urolithiasis can be cured using folk remedies, but only if the disease is at an initial stage, while the formations are small. The following folk remedies can be distinguished:
- When renal colic occurs, it is recommended to use strawberry leaves. Pour 100 g of leaves (or berries) into 1 liter of boiling water. The container in which the leaves are brewed should be tightly wrapped in a warm towel for 24 hours, then strained. Take 200 ml 2 times a day with meals for 7 days. After this, a break is taken for 3 days and the course is repeated. No more than 4-5 courses of treatment are allowed.
- Fresh cranberries help dissolve stones and remove sand from the genitourinary system. 100 g of cranberry fruits are poured into 1 liter of boiling water and left for 5 hours. The medicine is taken once a day for 30 days.
- Birch juice. It is necessary to drink 200 ml of birch sap every morning on an empty stomach. At lunchtime after eating you should drink 2 tbsp. l. olive oil, and before bed another 200 ml of birch sap.
- Infusion of birch buds. 2 tbsp. l. kidneys should be poured with 500 ml of boiling water and left for 24 hours. After this, the product is filtered and taken 100 ml daily, 2 times a day. The infusion helps relieve pain, so after they are eliminated, taking the drug must be stopped.
- Infusion of flax seeds. It has an analgesic effect. Pour 100 g of seeds into 1 liter of water and boil over low heat for 1 hour. The infusion is taken 500 ml per day.
- Burdock root decoction. 2 tbsp. l. pour 500 ml of boiling water over the root and simmer in a water bath for 30 minutes. The product is taken 3 times a day, 100 ml before meals.
Traditional and alternative medicine offers a wide range of remedies for the treatment of urolithiasis, but only a specialist should prescribe them.
What do acne on the face “signify”?
A good experienced specialist can already have a general picture of the disease just by looking at the patient’s face. The face is a mirror of the state of the body. Acne on the face is a clear sign of improper functioning of the body. After all, the skin takes on a huge job of removing toxins and waste if the kidneys are disrupted. And then a rash, small pimples, acne, and sometimes swelling and paleness of the skin appear. You can independently determine the appearance of acne:
- near the eyes (the problem lies in diseases of the reproductive system and kidneys);
- on the forehead, in the upper part (impaired functioning of the urinary and gastric bladder);
- with a red tint on the chin in men (development of prostatitis);
- redness, irritation, peeling, dark areas around the mouth and on the chin (disruption of the excretory system);
- subcutaneous acne (hormonal disorders that also affect the functioning of internal organs).
But only a specialist has the right to correctly diagnose the disease and prescribe treatment, since the appearance of acne carries a lot of “hidden” information that only they can decipher. It is almost impossible to cope with illnesses on your own. Or you can “remove” the symptoms for a while, and then the disease will begin to progress even more.
Internal organs on the face. How to determine health by rashes on the face
Hello to everyone who is not indifferent to everything that happens in our body! And today we’ll talk about the face, or more precisely about how the ancient Chinese teaching about the projections of internal organs onto the face will tell you which internal organ is starting to get sick. And forewarned means forearmed!
What problems are visible on the face
The face is the mirror of our health. Premature wrinkles, rashes, age spots - all this is a signal of possible problems in the body, and not just a reason to change the cosmetic product.
A person’s face reflects all the processes occurring in his body, be it the absorption of nutrients, cell renewal or the accumulation of toxins.
It turns out that acne is a surprisingly accurate and quick signal of problems in the body. Slowly forming keratomas (warts) also carry information about problems, but belatedly.
Signs of aging, such as age spots and wrinkles, appear primarily on those areas of the face onto which internal organs with problems are projected. People noticed this in ancient times.
It is known that during intrauterine development, the upper layers of the skin are formed from the same germ cells as the nervous tissue.
Perhaps this is why the skin reacts so sensitively to any disruptions in the body’s functioning. Sometimes a person has no complaints about his health, but the skin has already “signaled” - inflammation, age spots, warts (keratomas), etc.
Chinese teaching
How to learn to read these signals, how to understand what the skin wants to say in this or that case? After all, understanding in time means preventing the disease. The projection of internal organs on the face will tell someone who can read
Modern Chinese doctors, based on ancient medical knowledge, have developed a diagram of the location of zones on the face associated with certain organs of the body.
Heart . Redness, capillary stars, swelling of the tip of the nose indicate cardiovascular disease.
Lungs . Whiteheads or blackheads on the nostrils and cheeks indicate problems in the lungs and possibly excessive consumption of dairy products (which cause mucus to build up in the lungs) and sugar.
Stomach . A rash on the nose, around the lips and in the center of the cheeks indicates digestive problems.
Intestines . Redness, rashes on the forehead, upper lip, swelling in the area of the zygomatic arches (“buns”) and at the border with the lower eyelid indicate intestinal problems. This is a signal that you need to reduce your intake of salt, red meat and dairy products.
If the skin in these areas becomes too pale, you should reduce the amount of sweets, coffee, and medications. Chapped lips also characterize intestinal diseases. By the way, the digestion process begins with the lips. And if you wear makeup, then lipstick initially interferes with the digestion process, making it difficult.
Liver . The area between the eyebrows at the bottom of the forehead characterizes the liver. If there is a vertical fold there, this indicates a violation of its activity. You should avoid alcohol, medications (prefer natural remedies), and food preservatives. The abundance of wrinkles on the forehead is a reason to wonder whether you are overeating and consuming too much animal products?
Brown spots on the forehead at the roots of the hair also indicate liver overstrain.
Pancreas . It corresponds to the outer corners of the eyes (“crow’s feet”, in particular), the corners of the mouth (rashes, folds), part of the cheek near the nose and the area of the bridge of the nose.
Spleen. Wrinkles in the area of the temporal bone, between the upper eyelids and the bridge of the nose, indicate weakness in the function of the spleen. They may also indicate tension in the shoulder area, and this is already a signal of dysfunction of the adrenal glands, which release adrenaline into the blood.
Kidneys. Their work is characterized by the lower eyelids, forehead (the area of the temporal bald patches), and the lateral surfaces of the neck. There is an assumption that the center of the cheek also corresponds to the kidneys, but so far this is only an assumption: the cheeks are the most difficult areas for a final diagnosis. Dark circles under the eyes, puffiness and redness indicate kidney weakness or abuse of fatty, high-calorie foods, alcohol or smoking.
Genital organs. During menstrual periods, rashes may appear in the chin area. If the chin often looks red and swollen, this indicates weakness of the reproductive organs.
Bladder. The area of the lower eyelid (the line at the inner corner of the eye where the arrows are “drawn”), sometimes separate areas on the forehead.
Endocrine organs. The lower part of the face as a whole.
In conclusion…
Of course, a specialist will never make a diagnosis based on only one sign; he will look for confirmation of his guess based on other criteria.
Bottom line - when looking in the mirror, pay attention to all the changes that occur to your face - this will help you prevent various health problems in the future.
What is kidney failure?
Kidney failure is a complex disorder of the functioning of the kidneys, which leads to metabolic disorders and damage to the continuous proper functioning of the body. Kidney failure occurs in acute and chronic forms. If this is not a congenital defect, then it occurs throughout life due to a number of factors: stressful situations, poor nutrition, exogenous poisoning, injury, infectious diseases, long-term use of antibiotics. If you ignore the disease, it will lead to death. In order to notice the first signs in time, you need to be especially attentive to yourself and the condition of your skin.
Yellowing of the skin
One sign of kidney failure is yellowing of the skin. Changes in skin color are caused by anemia (insufficient production of red blood cells). And this is a complication that accumulates toxins and, when released, leaves a trace. First of all, you need to cleanse the blood of toxins, normalize kidney function and additionally consume vitamins with trace elements of iron and calcium. But an excess of vitamins can also lead to intoxication, so you need to consume the daily allowance (calcium from 800 to 1200 mg, iron from 8 mg to 45 mg in adults). Dairy products are rich in calcium, and legumes, apples, buckwheat, dried fruits, fish, and meat are rich in iron. Pomegranate copes well with toxins.
Pigmentation
Kidney failure is characterized by skin pigmentation. The element melanin, which is found in cells and is responsible for the color of skin, eyes, and hair, is responsible for pigmentation. It's genetic. With insufficient nutrition and hormonal imbalances, the production of melanin is disrupted and as a result, if there is an excess, the skin darkens, and if there is a lack of it, it becomes lighter. Kidney failure is characterized precisely by darkening of the skin in certain areas - around the mouth and chin, and in rare cases - the temporary appearance of freckles. Pigmentation does not cause discomfort, but is aesthetically disappointing. It can also be caused by a number of diseases with kidney damage. It is important to consume vitamin B12 (the richest in by-products: heart, kidneys, liver).
What is "uremic frost"?
In very rare cases, “uremic frost” is observed and mainly in men. These are white crystals from urea sweat that come out through the skin in the neck, face, nostrils and are caused by chronic kidney failure. This pathological process occurs in the later stages of the disease. Since toxins are not completely eliminated, they lead to intoxication of the body and can even cause uremic coma. In such cases, the patient should only be under the supervision of a doctor.
Localization and other symptoms
Pimples on the earlobe may indicate kidney disease.
By the appearance of the pimple and its location, you can determine which organ is worth paying attention to. Acne on the face due to disruption of the renal system appears on the epidermis in the following areas:
- The area around the eyes. Drinking a small amount of water per day, dehydration of the body, leads to the appearance of a rash, and xerosis occurs. Swelling and bruising under the eyes may appear. Sometimes, mainly in men, uremic frost appears in the form of whitish deposits on the neck, facial skin, and nostrils.
- Ears, lobes. Eliminate sugary carbonated drinks from your diet. Seek medical help from a nephrologist. Rashes are possible due to problems with the kidneys and urinary system. Acne may be accompanied by yellowing or darkening of the skin.
Dry skin (xerosis) and kidneys
What is xerosis? Xerosis or xeroderma is dry skin that occurs due to insufficient moisture. Because of this, deep cracks, inflammatory processes, and infections appear. The patient experiences peeling, itching and sensitivity of the skin to irritation and injury. Neglecting these symptoms can provoke ichthyosis. This symptom occurs on its own due to lack of hygiene and failure to adhere to simple skin care rules. But the cause can also be caused by kidney failure. It manifests itself in an acute form, when the disease occurs spontaneously and the metabolism is impaired. In this case, tests are examined and a set of measures to improve health is taken.
Pimples under the lip. Why do pimples appear on the lips?
The most common sign states that an unpleasant rash in the mouth is a punishment for those who like to use swear words in conversation. They say, the more often a person curses, the more the problem blossoms. But a lonely pimple, according to the same signs, goes “as a reward” to someone who, in the heat of the moment, insults his interlocutor with a careless word. Did he blurt out too much and hit a person to the quick? Get a red lip on your lips! Next time you'll be more careful...
If you cannot be suspected of a tendency to use foul language, check where exactly the pimple popped up:
- On the lower lip, this small cosmetic defect predicts a kiss with a close relative or friend. Don’t expect a flurry of passion, but you can count on meeting a pleasant person whom you will be very happy to see.
- A pimple on the upper lip is considered an unambiguous signal - in your environment there is a person who “breathes unevenly” towards you. It is unknown why the lip reacted to his feelings in such a strange way, but it definitely wouldn’t hurt to take a closer look at friends of the opposite sex. What if something serious happens to you?
- A pimple above the lips has a double meaning. First: you are passionately in love, although you don’t understand it yet, mistaking the feeling that has arisen for ordinary sympathy. Come on, do a little test to see how you feel! Are your eyes sparkling, your mood is unreasonably high and you want to fly up into the clouds? It looks like you were truly struck by a real feeling! Don't you feel anything like that? Then option two: lately you have been too focused on yourself and are paying little attention to family and friends. Moderate your selfishness, people dear to you need your help!
Perforating skin diseases
This case is observed in patients with chronic renal failure, who are often on hardware blood purification (kidney dialysis). Kidney dialysis restores function and removes toxins. Perforating diseases are a simultaneous manifestation of several diseases that are caused by renal failure and affect the skin. This condition of dermatitis is acquired during illnesses, but after some time it goes away on its own. It is caused by the fact that the body, including the kidneys, does not immediately adjust to proper functioning. This takes time, and the toxins that have accumulated come out even faster. Therefore, this is considered a specific reaction.
CHAPTER 38. SKINAL MANIFESTATIONS OF KIDNEY DISEASES
1. What types of skin changes are observed in kidney disease?
There are three main categories of skin changes associated with kidney disease: 1. Skin manifestations of renal failure, observed in almost all patients suffering from it. 2. Systemic diseases with pronounced manifestations of the kidneys and skin (for example, Henoch-Schönlein purpura). 3. Diseases affecting the kidneys, in which a skin biopsy can help establish the diagnosis even when skin manifestations are mild (for example, primary systemic amyloidosis).
2. What skin manifestations are observed in renal failure? Skin manifestations in chronic renal failure

3. What skin manifestations are observed in patients undergoing dialysis?
Many of the skin changes described in patients with chronic renal failure are also found in patients treated with peritoneal dialysis or hemodialysis. A significant proportion of dialysis patients complain of itching, which can be severe. In some cases, during dialysis the itching intensifies. Renal dialysis may cause the patient to develop a bullous rash similar to porphyria cutanea tarda (see Figure A). Acne has been reported in association with dialysis and testosterone treatment. Some diseases in which perforations occur are associated with chronic renal failure, either treated or not treated with renal dialysis. These include Kirle disease, reactive perforating collagenosis, and penetrating folliculitis. Some authors combine all perforating diseases observed in such patients under one name - “acquired perforating dermatosis of chronic renal failure.” The pathogenesis of these conditions is unclear. When treated with dialysis, patients may experience complications directly caused by this type of treatment, such as infectious or contact dermatitis at the site of the peritoneal cannula or arteriovenous fistula.
4. Describe the changes in nails in chronic renal failure.
Both Muerke's nails and the half-and-half sign are associated with chronic renal failure. In the half-and-half sign, the proximal half of the nail is white, but the distal half remains its normal pink color (see Figure B). This is thought to be due to swelling of the nail bed. Muerke's nails have two transverse parallel white stripes, separated from each other and from the lunula by areas of normal pink nail. Such nail changes are associated with hypoalbuminemia in kidney disease.
Skin manifestations. A. A tense blister on the dorsum of the hand in a patient undergoing renal dialysis treatment. B. Half-and-half nails in a patient with chronic renal failure
5. What is “uremic frost”?
This discoloration, rare today, was originally described as a classic manifestation of chronic renal failure. The whitish deposits observed on the face and neck were thought to be due to the deposition of urea crystallized from sweat. Skin discoloration associated with renal failure
SKIN MANIFESTATIONS | COLOR | SPREADING | ETIOLOGY |
Uremic frost | White | Face, nostrils, neck | Deposition of urea crystallized from sweat |
Pallor | Yellowish | Generalized | Urochromic deposits, anemia |
Hyperpigmentation | Brown | Generalized or in open areas | Increased content of 3-melanocyte-stimulating hormone |
Bruise | Red - purple - green - yellow - brown | Injured places | Hemostatic disorders |
6. What causes the skin pigmentation changes seen in chronic renal failure?
This is the result of an increase in the amount of melanin in the basal layer of the epidermis and the superficial layers of the dermis. It is believed that these patients have decreased metabolism of β-3-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (3-MSH) due to kidney disease, which leads to increased levels of β-3-MSH in plasma; this hormone, in turn, stimulates the production of melanin by melanocytes.
7. What causes pallor in chronic renal failure?
Paleness is caused primarily by anemia - an inevitable companion to chronic renal failure. In addition, a icteric tint may be observed, which is associated with urochromic deposits in the skin.
8. Is itching common in any form of kidney failure?
No. In patients with acute renal failure, itching does not occur. However, it is typical for patients with chronic renal failure. In addition, some patients with chronic kidney failure experience increased itching after dialysis treatment. The exact cause of uremic pruritus is unknown. It has been suggested that a histamine-releasing factor is present in the blood serum of patients with uremia, the effect of which can be reduced or weakened using B-ultraviolet irradiation. Another study found a decrease in the total number of nerve endings in the skin of patients with uremia and hypothesized that the innervation of the skin in patients with chronic renal failure was impaired, possibly due to neuropathy. Secondary hyperparathyroidism, which sometimes develops in chronic renal failure, can also cause itching.
9. How to treat itching in kidney failure?
First of all, a specific diagnosis must be carried out. Patients with kidney failure may also have a variety of itchy skin lesions, including scabies or allergic contact dermatitis. Itching is also a reaction to drug therapy. Often observed dry skin decreases after eliminating contact with irritants, using mild soap or completely refusing to use it, as well as frequent use of emollients. In cases where itching is a manifestation of secondary hyperparathyroidism, surgical treatment may be indicated. If no specific cause of itching is found, ultraviolet B (UV) irradiation may be successful.
10. What are perforating skin diseases?
This is a group of diseases in which the elimination of altered skin components occurs through the epidermis (a process called
transepidermal elimination).
However, several different perforating diseases have been associated with chronic renal failure, including Kirle disease, reactive perforating collagenosis, and perforating folliculitis.
Skin biopsies of patients with chronic renal failure show evidence of more than one type of perforating disorder, and it has been proposed that this condition be classified as an acquired perforating dermatoses of chronic renal failure.
This rash may occur in up to 10% of patients treated with dialysis, but can also occur in patients with kidney failure who are not receiving this treatment. The lesions consist of papules with keratosis and nodules located on the skin of the trunk and limbs (see figure). Lesions are more often observed in dark-skinned patients. A skin biopsy confirms the diagnosis. This lesion may resolve spontaneously after a few months.
Perforating disease in chronic renal failure. On the back there are small, erythematous papules with central crusting or scaling. Visible papules with perforations, depigmented areas - areas of previous lesions
Kirle disease
-
a nosological unit, the existence of which is disputed by some authors. According to Kirle's original definition, it is a disease in which an atypical clone of keratinocytes penetrates through the epidermis into the dermis. Reactive perforating collagenosis
is
a disease in which initially atypical collagen is pushed out of the dermis through the epidermis. Perforating folliculitis
is characterized by follicular plugs and curled hairs that penetrate through the hair follicle into the dermis.
11. Describe the rash that appears during dialysis, similar to the manifestations of porphyria.
Patients with chronic renal failure treated with dialysis sometimes develop skin tenderness, blistering, hyperpigmentation, and hypertrichosis that are indistinguishable from the cutaneous manifestations of porphyria cutanea tarda. Although most of these patients have normal blood levels of porphyrins, some have elevated levels. If such patients develop anuria, their plasma and feces are analyzed for porphyrin content.
12. What is Fabry disease (diffuse angiokeratoma of the trunk)?
This disease is a consequence of impaired activity of the lysosomal enzyme, CC-galactosidase A, which leads to the deposition of neutral glycosphingolipids, in particular trihexosyl ceramide, in many cells and tissues of the body. The disease is inherited in a recessive manner, is associated with the X chromosome and affects almost exclusively men. Heterozygous women usually have no symptoms, although characteristic corneal opacities are often present.
13. Describe the skin lesions associated with Fabry disease.
Skin lesions in Fabry disease appear as angiokeratomas. Initially, usually in early childhood, punctate erythematous or purple spots or flat papules with slight peeling appear, which gradually increase in number and size. They are usually located in the "swimsuit zone" - the area between the waistband and knees. These lesions may be barely visible. A skin biopsy helps make the diagnosis, since staining with pike perch black B, red scarlet or periodic acid - Schiff's reagent indicates the deposition of glycolipids in the skin. Electron microscopy is used to facilitate diagnosis because it reveals characteristic deposits of glycolipids in the cytoplasm (usually within endothelial cells). Symptoms of Fabry disease - attacks of acute pain, especially in the hands and feet - often begin in childhood. In adulthood, cardiac ischemia and infarction, transient attacks of ischemia, strokes and progressive renal failure may occur.
Pinpoint vascular spots and papules in Fabry disease. Lesions are located in the "swimsuit area"
14. Which vasculitis often affects the kidneys and skin?
Leukocytoclastic vasculitis, periarteritis nodosa, Henoch-Schönlein purpura, Wegener's granulomatosis.
When skin lesions suggest the development of vasculitis, a skin biopsy should be performed to confirm the diagnosis and determine the type of vessels involved and the nature of the inflammation (see also Chapter 15). Various vessels can be involved in the process - from small postcapillary venules (Leukocytoclastic vasculitis) to medium-sized arteries (periarteritis nodosa). If the diagnosis of vasculitis is confirmed, then you should check for kidney damage.
15. How to perform a biopsy when diagnosing systemic amyloidosis?
In primary amyloidosis, immunoglobulin light chain protein is deposited in the skin, heart, spleen, joints, peripheral nerves, and palmar ligaments. Skin manifestations may include purpura on the upper trunk, face and neck, and, especially in primary systemic amyloidosis, on the eyelids. Waxy papules have also been reported, especially on the palms and fingertips. Even in the absence of changes in the skin, a skin biopsy helps in the diagnosis of primary systemic amyloidosis. To confirm the diagnosis, a skin biopsy is performed (even if there are no visible clinical manifestations), abdominal fat, tissue of the tongue and rectum. This avoids more traumatic biopsies of internal organs.

Causes of skin problems due to kidney disease, their treatment
The appearance of the skin deteriorates significantly, since kidney disease is associated with metabolic disorders. The provocateurs are:
- Intoxication of the body with metabolic products. They are not eliminated from the blood and kidneys, poison the body and cause acne, peeling and itching.
- Excessive amount of phosphorus, which is not excreted by the paired organ.
- Autoimmune kidney diseases associated with improper functioning of the immune system.
External changes that are associated with pigmentation of the dermis and the appearance of a slight icteric tint are more often diagnosed. These are signs of kidney failure. In other cases, a rash, itching, peeling or other skin diseases appear. To get rid of these unpleasant phenomena, it is important to initially cure the kidneys, and then restore the condition of the skin with dermatological agents.
Rash on the face and body
Rashes appear in renal failure and amyloidosis. The rash looks like symmetrical small red pimples, which can be located on the lower back, thereby indicating the cause of their appearance, but are more often localized on the face. For treatment, drugs that enhance immunity are used, including vitamins B, C and P, diuretics and detoxification drugs. Additionally, herbal medicine is prescribed with renal infusions, which help restore the organ and, therefore, get rid of rashes.
Acne on the face
Blackheads are larger in size than rashes and their number is smaller. Acne, which occurs as a result of kidney disease, is localized mainly near the eyes, less often in the temporal region. The usual infusion of flaxseed, coltsfoot or dill seed can get rid of them. A decoction of rose hips, which is a storehouse of vitamins, will help remove acne on the face and improve the condition of the skin. This therapy is symptomatic; to eliminate the cause, you need to consult a doctor.
Yellowing of the skin
Excessive jaundice is caused by kidney failure and nephritis, an inflammation of the glomeruli of the kidneys. The yellow color appears due to the deposition of urochrome in the skin. This is a protein substance that is normally found in urine and gives it a yellow color. To remove urochrome from the skin, drug treatment is prescribed in combination with proper nutrition. External products are not able to improve the appearance. There are 2 main approaches:
- weakening of anemia by taking calcium and iron supplements together with vitamin C;
- blood purification with improvement of kidney function using traditional and alternative medicine.

Appearance of itching
Itching often occurs after taking medications.
The course of chronic kidney diseases, including chronic kidney disease (chronic renal failure), oncology or tuberculosis of renal tissue, vascular pathologies, and congenital anomalies is accompanied by the appearance of itching. The cause of itching is intoxication of the body due to dysfunction of the paired organ by decay products: urea, ammonia. The condition is characterized by hyperfunction of the thyroid gland and excessive production of histamine. To get rid of itching, the following are prescribed:
- antihistamines, local anesthetics;
- diet;
- hemodialysis (active blood purification);
- UV irradiation of the skin;
- sorbents;
- stabilization of the acid-base balance by alkalizing the blood.

Skin pigmentation
With chronic renal failure, there is a darkening of some areas of the skin on the chin or near the mouth, or a short-term appearance of freckles on the face and body. This is due to a disruption in the production of melatonin, a natural pigment found in the body that is responsible for the color of the skin. Due to an excess of it in the body, the skin darkens, and due to a deficiency, it becomes lighter. To improve the appearance of the epidermis and lighten it, you should include foods rich in vitamin B12 in your diet.
Uremic frost
This manifestation is typical only in the last stages of kidney disease. It appears more often in men than in women. Uremic frost occurs as whitish deposits on the face, neck and nostrils. The reason for its appearance is the deposition of crystallized urea, which comes out with sweat. If a patient exhibits such signs, it is important to be under constant medical supervision.
Dry skin
Xerosis is another companion to renal failure, but it occurs spontaneously. This is a medical term and means the same thing as dry skin. Dry skin occurs due to a decrease in moisture levels in the upper layers of the epidermis. As a result, peeling begins, cracks and wounds appear on the skin. It appears either due to metabolic disorders, or due to a basic violation of the rules of personal hygiene. You can get rid of xerosis with the help of medications or emollient external agents.
Perforating pathologies of the skin
Patients undergoing hardware blood cleansing for kidney disease experience problems associated with skin perforation. These include:
- Kirle's disease is the appearance on the skin of the hands of areas with a thickened stratum corneum.
- perforating folliculitis - the appearance of plugs in the hair follicle, curling of the hair and its entry into the dermis;
- perforating collagenosis is a diffuse lesion of connective tissue.
Perforating dermatoses are observed in patients with dark and dark skin color.
This is a specific reaction of the body that occurs due to excess toxins and goes away on its own. Patients usually have several perforating diseases, characterized by papules with nodules. The diagnosis is usually confirmed by biopsy and does not require special treatment.

What is the difference between back pain and kidney pain?
When sudden back pain appears for the first time, it is very difficult to figure out whether it is caused by problems in the spine or inflammatory kidney diseases, since pain in the lumbar region in both cases can be of the same nature.
How to distinguish between back pain and kidney pain
In order to figure out what caused lower back pain, you need to determine its type and all the symptoms of your discomfort. But to prescribe the correct treatment, you should still go to the doctor to get tested and diagnose the problem.
Symptoms, signs and treatment of pyelonephritis in women with folk remedies
Pyelonephritis is an inflammatory kidney disease of infectious origin. Pathology develops when harmful bacteria enter from the lower areas of the urinary system, mainly (90% of cases) E. coli.
The disease is expressed by the manifestation of pain and deterioration in the general well-being of a person.
articles:
Representatives of the fairer sex suffer from pyelonephritis several times more often than men. In women who are sexually active, the risk of developing an acute form of the disease is observed more often.
Causes of the disease
The main factors for the development of pyelonephritis are:
- AIDS;
- pathologies of development of the bladder, kidneys and urethra;
- diabetes;
- hypovitaminosis;
- the presence of kidney stones;
- infections;
- tonsillitis;
- caries;
- bladder catheterization;
- abscesses;
- diseases of the genital organs;
- surgery on the urinary system;
- spinal cord injuries;
- enlargement of the uterus.
As a woman ages, the likelihood of pyelonephritis increases significantly.

The causes of the disease include:
- Vesiculourethral reflux , which occurs due to a pathological change in the outflow of urine to the bladder through the ureters. As a result, part of the urine enters the renal pelvis, which causes the growth of harmful microorganisms that enter the kidney, causing inflammation of the organ.
- Ascending route of infection . In addition to E. coli, the causative agents of the pathology are Klebsiella, staphylococci, enterococci, Proteus, Enterobacter, pseudomonas and pathogenic fungi.
For the development of the disease, a combination of several factors is important: the presence of a pathogen in the body, a factor that provokes pathology and a decrease in the woman’s immunity.

Signs of kidney inflammation
Common symptoms of pyelonephritis in women:
- nausea and vomiting;
- cyclic increase in body temperature;
- dull, aching pain in the side on the affected side;
- fast fatiguability;
- increase in pressure;
- girdle pain in the lower back;
- general weakness and malaise;
- swelling of the lower extremities;
- frequent urination;
Rapid heartbeat and dehydration may appear as nonspecific signs of the disease.
Every 3 women with pyelonephritis experience accompanying signs of cystitis:
- the presence of blood in the urine;
- vaginal discharge;
- pain during urination;
- darkening and cloudiness of urine, the appearance of a fishy odor;
- frequent urge to urinate, including false ones.
The chronic form of the pathology lasts a long time with mild symptoms.
Pyelonephritis during pregnancy
If a woman has the disease, her kidneys should be treated before pregnancy to reduce the risk of developing kidney failure after childbirth.
In many cases it causes death within the next 5 years after the birth of the child.
The disease develops while a woman is expecting a child in 1-4% of cases. The increased risk of the disease occurs in the second semester of pregnancy.
The disease can cause the following pathologies: sepsis - in 15% of cases, anemia - about 25%, renal failure - up to 2%, in rare cases - premature birth.
For treatment, it is recommended to drink pumpkin juice, which has an anti-inflammatory effect for cystitis and pyelonephritis, and watermelon juice with black bread.
Diagnosis of pathology
The following studies are used to make a diagnosis:
- A blood test in which inflammation is detected during a pathological process.
- Urinalysis showing elevated white blood cells and high levels of pathogenic bacteria.
- Ultrasonography.
- Radionuclide diagnostics used when a combination of pathology and tumors is suspected.
- Bacterial culture, which allows you to identify the causative agent of the disease and select the correct drug treatment.
- Intravenous urography.
- The test is the Zimnitsky test to detect kidney inflammation.

Important! To accurately determine the diagnosis, examinations are carried out 3 times a month.
Possible complications
The main complications of the disease include:
- renal failure;
- kidney abscess (appearance of pus);
- sepsis (blood poisoning);
- emphysematous pyelonephritis, causing death in more than 40% of patients.
Important! The likelihood of negative consequences of pathology increases with diabetes (symptoms and treatment with folk remedies) and during pregnancy.
Treatment methods
Only a nephrologist can select the correct treatment. Typically, a complex effect on inflammatory kidney disease is used.
Remember! In the next 2 days after starting treatment, more than 95% of patients feel significant improvement.
Special food
You should definitely avoid drinking alcoholic beverages, coffee and carbonated sweet drinks, fatty, spicy and fried foods, marinades, mushrooms, spices, legumes and garlic.
A positive effect on a woman’s condition with pyelonephritis is the inclusion in the diet of cranberry juice, diluted in water or in its pure form, as well as fresh vegetables and fruits.
During remission, it is recommended to limit the consumption of fish and meat, reduce the inclusion of salt in the diet - a maximum of 7 grams per day, and include foods rich in nutrients in the menu.
Important! Drinking fluids significantly improves the patient's condition by maintaining normal water balance and removing bacteria from the body as a result of increased urination.
You should drink at least 2 liters of liquid during the day. Drinks made from rose hips, lingonberries and cranberries will be especially beneficial. Use stevia instead of sugar, here are the benefits and harms.
General rules
Recommendations for women suffering from pyelonephritis:
- Avoid hypothermia. Damp cold is especially dangerous.
- In case of exacerbation of the chronic form of the pathology and in the acute form of the disease, bed rest should be observed.
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
- After eating, the woman should lie down for 30 minutes.
Remember! Rare urination leads to pathological growth of microorganisms, which can cause blood poisoning and even death of the patient.
Drug treatment
A prerequisite for recovery is the prescription of medications with an antibacterial effect - Biseptol, Amoxicillin, Trimoxazole.
Only an experienced, highly qualified nephrologist can select the necessary remedy, in accordance with the severity, form and cause of the disease.
To relieve pain, No-shpa or Spasmoverin .
After complex treatment is completed, the patient is monitored by a doctor for six months.
A woman who has had pyelonephritis should undergo a general urine test monthly. Deregistration can be carried out only after 2 years from the moment of recovery and normalization of the analysis results.
Folk recipes
The effectiveness of many traditional medicines prepared on the basis of natural ingredients is not denied by doctors.
But still, before using any healing recipe, you should consult your doctor.
The key to achieving maximum effect in the treatment of pyelonephritis using traditional medicine methods is strict adherence to dosages, rules of storage, use and preparation of products.
- Honey and viburnum are mixed in equal proportions and taken before eating, 1 tablespoon 3 times throughout the day.
- Dissolve 2 tablespoons of flaxseeds . Bring the infusion to a boil and cook for 3-4 minutes. Let the mixture brew for 1 hour. It is recommended to drink the infusion ½ cup 2 times a day. Course of treatment – 2 day.
The result is cleansing of the kidneys and relief of inflammation. - Potato juice should be thoroughly mixed with rowan berry juice in equal proportions. The product is infused and consumed ½ cup once a day.
The recipe helps with chronic pyelonephritis. - Add a glass of oats to 1 liter of milk You should get a liquid that resembles jelly in consistency. The drink is consumed ¼ glass 4 times during the day.
- To 1 liter of boiled water you need to add 2 tablespoons of birch leaves . The mixture is placed in a water bath for 10-15 minutes and consumed in the amount of 1 glass 30 minutes before meals 3 times a day.
Measures to prevent the development of the disease include:
- Prevention of the occurrence and timely treatment of caries.
- Compliance with personal hygiene rules.
- Treatment of colitis, sinusitis, chronic tonsillitis, appendicitis and cholecystitis.
- Proper nutrition, rich in vitamins and microelements.
- Elimination of retention of the urinary process.
- Fight constipation.
- Elimination of hypothermia.
Pyelonephritis is a serious disease, ignoring the symptoms of which is unacceptable and dangerous for a woman’s life.
When observing the first alarming manifestations of pathology, it is recommended to immediately consult a doctor to select effective treatment and follow all his instructions.
For a speedy recovery, you should use a comprehensive approach to the disease, including traditional methods of treatment, the use of which is possible after consultation with your doctor.

Skin condition in kidney diseases, relationship between skin and kidneys
Often, skin rashes, itching and peeling may indicate kidney disease. Sometimes the skin color changes or an allergic reaction occurs. Therefore, to get rid of skin problems, you need to identify kidney disease and undergo a course of treatment. You should not start the process, otherwise complications may arise.
What are the problems?
Almost 90% of the appearance of acne indicates diseases of the body. And most of this includes kidney problems. Here are some reasons for the formation of acne on the face:
- The kidneys do not excrete phosphorus in the required amount. Because of this, it accumulates in the body and causes the formation of acne on the face.
- Intoxication of the body. There are times when all the body's waste does not come out in full, then itching appears on the skin and a rash may occur.
- The appearance of a rash due to autoimmune diseases.
What do pimples on the face mean?
The face is a mirror of the body. Therefore, any manifestation on it means a signal from the body. If you have kidney problems, your face will tell you about it. A rash may appear around the eyes, on the forehead, and on the cheeks. All these symptoms indicate disorders of the genitourinary system. Therefore, in case of any manifestations, it is better to contact a specialist who will make an accurate diagnosis.
What if the skin turns yellow?
Yellow color indicates a lack of oxygen. In this case, the toxins do not come out, but accumulate in large volumes. First of all, you need to normalize kidney function, remove toxins and take additional calcium and iron.
Pigmentation
Sometimes the skin on the face may darken and freckles may appear. They do not cause serious problems, but they can be alarming, because such a manifestation indicates kidney problems. Pigmentation is an aesthetic problem. To improve your condition, you need to consume B vitamins.
What causes dry and flaky skin?
Dryness occurs due to lack of moisture. This may be due to dehydration and lack of water. The kidneys work poorly and cannot cope with their work, so if you visit a doctor late, cracks may appear, inflammation may form, and infections may occur.
As you can see, skin problems, rashes and itching appear due to improper functioning of the kidneys. Therefore, you need to take care of them, take care of your health, and then the skin will shine and delight you with its beauty and smoothness.
During the period of gestation and birth of a child, many physiological and hormonal changes occur in the mother’s body, leaving an imprint on her appearance. This is most noticeable on the skin of the abdomen (stretch marks, sagging).
Effective methods to remove stretch marks and sagging belly after childbirth
However, you shouldn’t immediately run to the mirror after giving birth and evaluate your figure or try to fit into your favorite tight dress. The first step is to exhale and let the body recover on its own. A few weeks (up to 8) are usually enough for this. After this time, even at home, you can get your tummy in order. The main assistants in this will be:
- exercises;
- scrubs;
- massage;
- masks;
- wraps.
Exercises
They will tone the muscles, tightening the stomach and restoring its elasticity. The most effective will be:
- plank (you can start with 20 seconds, gradually increasing the time);
- twisting, folding (10-15 times 3 approaches);
- cardio (such as jumping rope);
- power training.
Scrubs
They improve blood flow, stimulate metabolic processes, tighten the skin. To prepare them, you can use coffee grounds, salt, sugar, and oatmeal. Honey, essential oils, pepper, yogurt, and sour cream can be used as additional components. Apply to the steamed body using massage movements. Apply 1-2 times a week, then apply nourishing cream.
Massage
Improves blood circulation, metabolism, tissue elasticity. Rotating massage movements (clockwise) can be done with your hands or using a brush. Before starting the session, warm up the skin with stroking movements. Massage can be performed either without additional means or using oils (citrus, pine, spicy) or massage creams.
Masks
To restore skin elasticity, masks from:
- white and blue clay (dilute 1-2 tablespoons with water, add honey and oil if necessary, apply to skin for 30-40 minutes, rinse with water);
- yeast (dilute in warm water, add 1 tbsp honey, a few drops of essential oil, apply and leave for 30-60 minutes);
- oils (mix in a ratio of 3:2:2 green coffee or argan oils: cocoa: wheat germ, heat in a water bath, apply to problem areas).
Wraps
It is better to carry out the procedure on steamed skin (after a bath, sauna). For these purposes it is recommended to use:
- seaweed (dilute with water to the consistency of sour cream);
- chocolate (mix 150g of cocoa powder with a couple of tablespoons of water or milk, cool to body temperature);
- apple cider vinegar (mixed with water in a 1:1 ratio);
- honey (heat in a water bath and add a few drops of essential oil).
After applying the mixture to the problem area, it must be wrapped in cling film or cellophane, wrapped in a warm cloth and left for 40 minutes, then rinsed with water.
If you need to tighten your skin after childbirth, you should remember that this process takes time, as well as a comprehensive solution, including not only cosmetic procedures, but also physical activity and nutritional adjustments.

Impact of chronic kidney disease on the skin
There are various dermatological conditions that are more common in chronic kidney disease and kidney transplant patients than in the general population.
Some skin conditions are clearly unique to this population. Of these, Lindsay's nails, dry skin, nephrogenic systemic fibrosis, and acquired perforating dermatosis have been described in chronic kidney patients. The most common malignancy found in all transplant recipients is nonmelanoma skin cancer. It is important for patients and physicians to recognize the manifestations of skin disease in patients with chronic kidney disease to reduce the morbidity associated with these conditions.
There are various dermatological conditions that are more common in chronic kidney disease and kidney transplant patients than in the general population. Some skin conditions are clearly unique to this population. It is important for patients and physicians to recognize the skin disease manifestations of renal failure in order to minimize and even prevent much of the morbidity associated with these conditions.
Important skin manifestations are the following diseases:
1. Half nails
Half nails, also called Lindsay's nails, are said to be found in 21% of dialysis patients. They appear as discolored nails with a proximal white portion and a reddish pink to brown portion. The color change does not change as the nails grow, indicating that the problem begins in the nail bed. The color change also does not go away with pressure. The exact pathophysiological mechanism associated with half nails is not understood, but an increase in the number of capillaries and capillary wall thickness is observed in the nail bed. It can be found at any level of azotemia and does not improve with dialysis, however it sometimes improves and even disappears with kidney transplantation.
2. Xerosis
Xerosis, dry skin, is one of the most common skin conditions seen in chronic kidney failure. It has been reported to affect 50-85% of patients on maintenance dialysis. It is usually located over the extensor surfaces of the forearms, legs and thighs. This is caused by a decrease in the size of the sweat glands and atrophy of the sebaceous glands. Also occurs when using diuretics. Treatment for xerosis includes behavioral changes and the use of topicals. Patients should be advised not to shower excessively, as dry skin may be irritated by soap. They should also apply daily emollients to damp or damp skin. Lotion with 10% dexpanthenol has also been shown to reduce the dryness and redness of xerosis.
3. Nephrogenic systemic fibrosis
Nephrogenic systemic fibrosis is a rare systemic fibrotic disorder uniquely found in renal failure. It is characterized by visible fibrosis of the skin consisting of hardened, thickened, tethered, hyperpigmented or shiny changes. Fibrotic skin through the joints leads to flexion contractures and immobility. Sclerotic changes are most often observed in the legs, ankles, lower legs, thighs, fingers, arms and lower shoulders.
Almost all known cases of fibrosis occur in patients exposed to gadolinium-enhanced MRI within 2–3 months of symptom onset. The absolute risk of systemic fibrosis in a patient with any exposure to a gadolinium agent has been reported to be 1.13–3.4%, making it a rare entity. A scoring system for clinical and histopathological criteria was used to diagnose NSF. Several pathophysiological mechanisms have been proposed and it appears to be related to increased collagen deposition, with fibrosis occurring in several organ systems including the lungs, heart and liver.
Unfortunately, there is also no effective treatment for nephrogenic systemic fibrosis. Topical or systemic corticosteroids, cyclophosphamide, thalidomide, plasmapheresis, immunoglobulin infusion, imatinib mesylate, and rapamycin have been reported to offer some improvement. Prevention of this disease is most important, including avoiding triggers. Gadolinium agents should be used only in patients with end-stage renal failure when needed.
4. Acquired perforating hemodialysis disease
Top 6 signs that you have kidney problems
The kidneys perform a very important function in our body: this paired organ is responsible for filtering unnecessary substances in the blood and removing excess fluid through urine.
If the kidneys stop working correctly, they can no longer remove toxins from the bloodstream, and when these accumulate in our body in large quantities, it can cause itching or rashes on the skin.
The kidneys also play an important role in regulating blood pressure and contribute to the production of some hormones that the body needs to function normally.
And given the importance of the above processes, it is not surprising that any disruption in kidney function can significantly reduce the quality of life.
The main problem is that most warning signs of kidney disease appear in later stages, when it becomes more difficult to control the process and treatment may be delayed.
Nevertheless, there are some signs that allow you to recognize diseases in the early stages of their development, and it is very important to know about them, since early diagnosis can save lives.
And if these signs appeared for less serious reasons, then this is still a reason to go to see a doctor and figure it out.
1. Changes in urination
The kidneys, as mentioned above, are responsible for the production of urine, so it is not surprising that any changes in urination are the first warning of a possible illness.
For example, toileting habits may change, meaning that a person will feel the urge to urinate more often than usual, especially at night.
Also, a person may feel a very strong desire to go to the toilet, and when approaching the toilet, he will find that he did not manage to pee, or he did, but very little.
Urine may also change, including:
- Buy a darker or paler shade
- Buy a strong smell
- Become foamy or bubbly
- There may be blood in it
2. Fluid retention in the body
When the kidneys cannot cope with their work due to disease, this leads to the accumulation of fluid in the tissues of the body, resulting in swelling and inflammation.
Most often this is noticeable in the area:
This disorder is also characterized by a feeling of heaviness in the abdomen and bloating.
Itching and burning
So, the toxins present in the bloodstream are eliminated from the body through the kidneys.
If the kidneys do not work correctly, a person may begin to experience some discomfort, he may develop various rashes on the skin, itching or tingling, then this can even spread to the muscles and bones.
4. Fatigue
One of the functions of the kidneys is to produce a hormone called erythropoietin. Its job is to support the body's production of red blood cells, which are necessary to transport oxygen through the bloodstream. If there is any disturbance in the functioning of the kidneys, then the production of the hormone decreases, and therefore the muscles and brain become fattened much faster.
When energy levels decrease, a person begins to feel powerless even while going about his daily activities. He sleeps more than usual and feels weak all the time.
This condition is also called anemia, and one of its causes is a lack of iron in the body.
5. Changes in taste perception and bad breath
The accumulation of various waste products in the bloodstream causes our perception of tastes to change. Some people complain of a “metallic” taste in their mouth, especially when eating meat.
And the majority begins to suffer from the appearance of bad breath, which is very difficult to cope with.
6. Back pain
Back pain is so common today that many have become accustomed to it and attribute its occurrence to awkward postures, poor posture, overexertion, or even stress.
Nevertheless, you should not cross kidney problems off the list of possible causes, especially if you have lower back pain or discomfort on the side.
When should you start worrying?
Each of the above symptoms should alert you and force you to consult a doctor for advice.
If this is really a kidney problem, then it is important to take into account all the risk factors and the recurrence of symptoms.
If two or more of them come and go, or do not go away for a long time despite treatment, then it is best to seek medical help as soon as possible.
